The winemaker and his story

Denis Lurton has been at the head of this third Grand Cru Classé in 1855 for around thirty years and has brought it into the 21st century by investing both in the working tools and in the adaptation of the vineyard to his vision of wine.

He made the choice, upon his arrival in 1992, to develop a wine which was both modern , that is to say, capable of being appreciated as a young wine, and which nevertheless retained this elegance and this capacity for aging . specific to Margaux wines.

It extends the destiny of this property whose name is old because it has been linked to Médoc viticulture since 1741 . It was on this date that Jean-Baptiste Desmirail gave his name to the property brought to him as a dowry by his wife Mademoiselle Marguerite Rauzan du Ribail.
