On the nose, the wine expresses itself with generosity and intensity. We find aromas of ripe black fruits (black cherry, plum, blackberry), accompanied by spicy notes of pepper and licorice. A touch of cocoa and vanilla enriches the bouquet, testifying to a well-controlled barrel aging.

The attack is ample and velvety, offering a beautiful generosity and a balance between power and roundness.

Nero Marone - Primitivo

On the palate, it shows fruitiness mixed with a spicy note supported by a structure of fine acidity. It is very fresh with aromas of green apple and a nice minerality on the finish.

This wine is an ice wine: these over-ripe grapes are harvested after the vines have frozen, pressed while still frozen and then left to ferment. The ultraconcentrated sugar increases further when thawing, and increases the acidity. The result is this wine of incredible sweetness, like honey, astonishing liveliness and tantalizing minerality.

C'est le plus célèbre de tous les classements viticoles français. En 1855, à l’occasion de l’exposition universelle de Paris, Napoléon III demande une classification des vins de Bordeaux.

Plus de 160 ans plus tard, le classement de 1855 n'a évolué que deux fois et fait toujours office de référence malgré de nombreuses critiques.
